 Hey foodies, craving summer cool treats? I know many of you are eagerly waiting for Gola wala to quench your thirst for an icy bite.

Yes, you are on the right guess, I'm talking about the most refreshing, cooling, flavorsome and cheap delight namely 'Chuski', 'Baraf ka Gola', etc which is highly desirable and famous in the hot and humid regions like India.

In these two years of covid-19, we literally missed our old yet sweet and icy memories of where we used to gather around the gola cart on just one ting-ting (bell sound) of gola wala to relish the colorful flavors i.e. 'Kacha Aam', 'Sahi-Gulab', 'Malai Chocolate', 'Kala-Katha', 'Plain Orange' and lots of juicy flavors.

I think your mouth will be watering right now, but do you know where this ice gola was invented first? The origin of ice gola was Japan around the 7th-11th century and thereafter it was relished in the USA in the 1950s where the American gola was sold on the streets in paper cones.

Initially, there were only a few flavors like melon, strawberry, and some condensed milk drizzled on the top. But when gola became popular in India there was a craze for real recipes and processes of making that include an ice-shave or circular wheel machine where the ice is put in the middle to grind it in a bowl, and the juicy syrups are filled into lovely glass bottles with amazing flavors, then comes the wooden sticks or bamboo sticks on which the ice is mounted and sprinkled the fruity syrups with some coconut malai and tutti-frutti, so yummy! the icy treat is ready to eat now😋.
